Crested Shrike-tit
Private Residence, Gawler East
heard in neighbouring River Redgum, softer whistle tipped me off this time as opposed to 'chucking' sound. I did my best imitation of the call only to have the bird land about 5 metres away, I immediately stopped whistling as the bird seemed quite irritated, repeatedly making the chucking call and looking all around frantically. Perhaps a male establishing a territory? (1).
