Radjah Shelduck
Queensland Alumina Smelter ponds adjacent to road into lookout, eastern outskirts of Gladstone
Single bird observed standing and feeding in shallow water of pond. Can be easily observed from main access road into the smelter. Pond is on the northern side of the road.

A bird well out of its normal range, seen and photographed 8.30 am 19/02/11 and again 5.30pm on the 20/02/11 just passed second viewpoint where water crosses road). Possible escapee or maybe displaced by cyclone Yasi.

At least 6 birds heard calling from one spot in heath. Two were flushed earlier, as was a single King Quail
