Sun 6 Feb	Rufous Scrub-bird Gloucester Tops Four Rufous Scrub-birds heard in total. One seen well, sitting two-three feet off the ground in tree-ferns calling. Not very vocal and after 10am all calls stopped. Calls were single note and infrequent, not the normal call. Two birds Kerripit Rd, two on the long track on the Beech Forest Walk. Three pairs Olive Whistler. Red-browed Tree-Creepers common Tim Faulkner
Sat 5 Feb	Lesser Sand Plover, Double-banded Plover Long Reef Marine Reserve 2 Double-banded Plovers and 1 Lesser Sand Plover seen on dusk at Long Reef. Possibly a 3rd DBP but unable to be sure due to vanishing light. Mark Young
	Australasian Bittern McGraths Hill/Pitt Town Australasian Bittern fllying out of South Creek area McGraths Hill towards Pitt Town Lagoon. Later seen by World Wetland Day participants at Pitt Town Lagoon. keith brandwood
Fri 4 Feb	Sooty Owl Barrington Tops National Park Sooty Owls heard in three different locations shortly after dark. One seen well. 10-15kms east from Honeysuckle Picnic area in deep gullies on the Barrington/Scone rd. Tim Faulkner
	White Throated Needletails & Fork Tailed Swifts Bobbin Head Rd, Turramurra Very loose flock estimated in excess of 200 birds seen over my house at 1:30pm today. Seemed to be feeding on something. The flock was mostly Needletails but I picked out 2 Fork Tailed Swifts mixed in with the mid-level birds. The flock was spread out both laterally and vertically (with the highest birds up not visible to naked eye but clearly there in the bins). The lower down birds were calling. Tom Wilson
Thu 3 Feb	Latham's Snipe Bicentennial Park, Homebush Bay One bird was flushed from northern banks of the artificial wetland that is present to the west of Wentworth Common (south of Haslams Reach and north of Marjorie Jackson Parkway). Deryk Engel
	Radjah Shelduck outside the Bulladelah Pub! Didn't think it worthy of reporting until i noted both the typical range, as well as the Grafton sighting. A first for me. A single bird was taking offerings of bread from sweltering lunchers on the small strip of lawn between the Myall River and the Buladelah pub at approx 1 pm today. I just happened to be in transit between Port Mac and Sydney. David Langley
Wed 2 Feb	Bassian Thrush Lady Carrington Drive, Royal National Park Three birds observed whilst walking along the southern end of Lady Carrington Drive this morning. All the birds were seen on the track itself. Deryk Engel
	Pheasant Coucal Royal National Park A Pheasant Coucal was flushed whilst walking along Mount Bass Firetrail this morning. Mount Bass Firetrail is located to the west of the Bundeena - Maianabar Roads turnoff. Deryk Engel
Mon 31 Jan	Radjah Shelduck Carr's Creek, Grafton A pair of Radjah Shelducks was first observed at a grazing property at Carrs Creek, Grafton by Wendy McDonald on Saturday January 29. I visited the site with Warren Thompson, Russell Jago and Maree Davis on Monday January 31 and viewed and photographed. The site is through a locked gate on private property so if anyone wishes to view them they should contact me. I think that this is the third recent record for NSW. Greg Clancy
	White-throated Needletails Bonnie Vale Camping Ground, Bundeena, Royal National Park Small flock, five to six birds, seen flying over entrance to camping ground around 8.00 o'clock this morning. Deryk Engel
Sun 30 Jan	Australasian Bittern MacDonald River 5 km south of St Albans Two birds seen from canoe at 3 p.m. skulking in reeds (A canoe is a great aid to seeing bitterns close-up!) david potter
	Gould's Petrel, Wandering Albatross Pelagic Off Port Stephens One Gould's Petrel seen + other Cookilarias not identified (at least one probable Gould's) on a pelagic off Port Stephens today. 	Eastern Reef Egret, Whimbrel Bithry Inlet / Wapengo Lagoon Single grey morph Eastern Reef Egret foraging around mouth of inlet, surprisingly approachable. Single Whimbrel also seen foraging amongst a large group (15+) of Eastern Curlews.(Moderator's Note; The location is at the southern limit of the Reef Egret.AKM). Dan Weller
	Pacific Baza Chain Valley Bay, Lake Macquarie Reserve alongside Karignan Creek. 1x Pacific Baza sighted, other species sighted 1x Mangrove Heron, 15+ White-breasted Woodswallows, several Dollarbirds, 1x Sacred Kingfisher, 1x White-bellied Sea Eagle. Jon Spicer-Bell
Fri 28 Jan	Common Sandpiper Blind Creek south of Lake Entrance Swansea c. 11:00. Single bird flushed from narrow strip of shingle against piling fence next to small park east of dual part of Pacific Hwy, gave soft characteristic trill, flew 20m & settled again to teeter and fossick along water's edge. Thu 27 Jan	Australian Pied Oystercatcher Airstrip and lagoon beaches, Lord Howe Island A black and white oystercatcher was reported by locals on the 27 Jan on the lagoon beaches and the western end of the airstrip at Lord Howe Island. I can confirm that it was an Australian Pied Oystercatcher, which is rarer than the South Island Pied Oystercatcher on Lord Howe Island. Hank Bower and others per Rohan Clarke

Fri 21 Jan	Bush Stone-curlew Lawson Street, Byron Bay Single bird seen at the rear of house at 92 Lawson Street sitting on drive way. Charles Hunter
	White-headed Pigeon Pearl Beach Single bird seen at the end of Amethyst Street. Charles Hunter
