Hi Mark & Amanda, firstly congrats on the new addition to the family. Now, I'm
flabbergasted to think that there are birders out there that would have a go at
you for not reporting something like a Wandering Tattler immediately. First of
all it's a species that once settled into an area for the summer, will usually
stay for the duration. Secondly, they should get off their collective fat arses
and take the relatively short trip up the NSW coastline, checking out remote
headlands (there's plenty of them) and find their own, it's a lot more fun!!
You never know they might even make it over the QLD border and start to enjoy
themselves. Oh, and well done with your persistence in observing this bird and
monitoring it and then sharing with others. Cheers - Paul W.
