Information on the rarities at Cocos can be found on Birding Tours' pages here:
http://aussiebirding.wildiaries.com/trips/10396. The images are not great
quality, on account they were transmitted over low bandwidth. Better versions
will be available later.
Richard has requested input on identification. Comments can be left on the trip
page and he'll receive these by email. He has also said there are spaces
available for North Keeling on Thu.
Regards,
Simon.

> Subject: [Birding-Aus] Rare birds on Cocos
>
> Just received a phone call from Richard Baxter. His party has just joined a
> group led by David James who has been on Cocos (Keeling) Islands for a few
> days. David's group reports a Eurasian Hobby on Horsburgh Is and a Watercock
> on West. There is an obliging Yellow Bittern on West and Richard reports a
> Large Hawk Cuckoo and possible Japanese Sparrowhawk on West and the island
> residents report a large raptor! There is water from a recent cyclone
