Hi Birdos,
Just a quick note to suggest anyone driving between Uluru and Alice Springs on
the highway late in the day keep a lookout for Bourke's Parrots. Yesterday,
racing along the highway to get home before the current storm hit, we passed no
less than ten parties of these awesome little birds numbering between 3 and
about a dozen. As we paused roadside north of Erldunda (to have a quick peek
for Cinnamon Quail-thrush) I flushed one party which headed west, then had
another party arrive a few minutes later from the east and nearly land at my
feet! I'll post some photos on Wildiaries soon.
Cheers
Mark Carter
