Location: Marino Rocks
Short-tailed Shearwater (Puffinus tenuirostris) (4) Over the last couple of
days four or five shearwaters have been floating about close to the coast at
Marino Rocks. I photographed them this morning but not sure of their identity.
Short-tailed Shearwater is my best guess.
Pacific Gull (Larus pacificus) (2) There are a couple of adult birds here most
days and some immature

Location: Onkaparinga Recreation Park
Brown Quail (Coturnix ypsilophora) (4) 3 flushed from dense wild oat grassland
around young revegetation near the Pingle Farm Track.Another bird was found
dead nearby,the body partly decayed.

Date: Thursday, October 21, 2010
Location: Murray Mouth from Hindmarsh Island
Fairy Tern (Sterna nereis) (21) Birds were on a sand bar between the Island and
Murray Mouth. 20 birds with a yellow bill,one bird had a black bill. On the
same sand bar were 1100+ Crested Tern and 20 Caspian Tern.
Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica) (39) Birds were resting on the same sand
bar has the Terns.

Location: Point Sturt Peninsula
Brown Quail (Coturnix ypsilophora) (1) One was calling from dense Veldt Grass
on private property about 4 Km along Point Sturt Road.
