Sun 4 Jul Double-banded Plover Shoalhaven River Mouth
Approximately 60 to 70 Double-banded Plovers, some in breeding plumage
on the sand between the river and the sea.

Fluttering Shearwater Coogee NSW
1080 Fluttering Shearwater flying south between 11.50 and 12.45.
Furthermore 3 Yellow-nosed, 1 Shy and ca 15 Black-browed Albatross, 1
Brown Skua, 1 imm. Pacific Gull and 1 imm. Kelp Gull, ca. 10 Prions
(sp).

Common Bronzewing, Sea Eagle, Brush Turkey Greenwich
This morning I was surprised to see a Common Bronzewing on the foreshore
at the mouth of Gore Ck adjoining the mudflats. I think this is the only
time I've seen one in the Inner Suburbs of Sydney. It was the 80th
species I've recorded in Greenwich in 3 years. Then a White-faced Heron
and Masked Lapwing took off hurriedly from the mudflats - sure enough, a
Sea Eagle sailed over moments later, with 2 attendant Aussie Ravens.
Earlier on a friend saw a Brush Turkey in the bush a hundred metres back
towards Ford St.

Sat 3 Jul Crested Shrike-tit Hillview Coramba
1 bird seen in trees near Golden & Rufous Whistlers. Distinguished by
white and black stripes on face. Seen calling.

Grey Goshawk, Bassian Thrush, Southern Emu-wren, Rose Robin
Royal National Park
A great trip the the Royal NP this morning yielded some great species. 2
Southern Emu-wrens were near the start of the Curra Moores track. Also a
White Morph Grey Goshawk, 2 Bassian Thrushes and a male Rose Robin were
seen at Wattle Flat, Audley.

Thu 1 Jul Ground Cuckoo-shrike nr Murren Bridge, north of Lake
Cargelligo (20kms)
7 Ground Cuckoo-shrikes in a tree a few hundred metres after the turn
after Murren Bridge (20kms north of Lake Cargelligo) - this is the road
that eventually takes you to Cobar via Round Hill. [moderators note: I
think this road is called "Round Hill Rd"]

Possible Flock Bronzewing Booberoi Creek - nr Round Hill
Large flock - more than 100 - of bulky pigeons flying away from the road
south of Booberoi Creek - they seemed to fit Flock Bronzewing ID.

Red-Lored Whistler, Gilbert's Whilster, Chestnut-backed Quail
Thrush, Southern Scrubrobin Round Hill Nature Reserve
Red Lored Whistler came onto the road to drink at a puddle 200mt past
#653 on south side of railway line. [Round Hill Road] Gilberts Whistlers
are abundant - heard and seen at many places at Round Hill - Nombinnie.
Also lots of Chestnut-backed Quail Thrush - Scrub Robins - Shy
Heathwrens White-Winged Wrens - nesting - on the back road to Round Hill
in the saltbush after the cattlegrid a km before the road turns north
towards Booberoi Creek. There has been a lot of rain and the roads are
wet but good - avoid the numerous puddles and obvious wetspots and a 2
WD should have no problems.

Tue 29 Jun Wandering Whistling Duck King Creek swamp, Wauchope
A stop at King Creek swamp this morning produced 60 plus Wandering
Whistling Ducks, 4 Jacanas, 2 Black Swans and a single male Chestnut
Teal.

Spangled Drongo Red Hill in the Cromer-Beacon Hill area
Saw one Spangled Drongo flying from tree to tree today at about 2pm. It
had dark eyes so would be an immature. I was on the track near where it
joins Wakehurst parkway, near the Sydney Water tank

Mon 28 Jun Little Eagle Western Sydney Parklands (Northern Section)
near Richmond Road/Eastern Creek
Sighted late afternoon a Little Eagle (dark morph) flying in from SW. It
settled close by in a tree but only for a few minutes before being
chased away by Ravens.

Near reed beds at far end of dam. Darting in an out to water from
overhanging tree and then sitting on a marker pole.
