Yes - but what is their own habitat?Rainbow Lorikeets, like Noisy Miners and to an extent Red Wattlebirds, are thriving in my part of Melbourne because of habitat modification, especially planting non-indigenous eucalypts. And you could add Butcherbirds and Silver Gulls because of deliberate or accidental feeding. Whether the increased numbers of Rainbow Lorikeets (rare here 50 years ago) are due to release of caged birds or changing the face of the land, we human are what it is about.
