Pied Currawongs used to be occasional winter visitors in the Heidelberg area. In recent years their numbers have increased markedly and they have become all-year-round birds. A pair has bred in or near my garden in the last three years - the young bird sounds like a baby Magpie with a bad sore throat. I would expect to see or hear Pied Currawongs every day of the year round here.
