Hi all, Just back from several days at Narooma on the NSW south coast. Here is a brief rundown of sites visited and birds seen.
- Kianga (accommodation) - Swamp Harrier.
- Wagonga Inlet (waders) - >350 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Eastern Curlew, 2 Whimbrel, 22 Red Knot (nb), 6 Pied Oystercatcher, 1 Intermediate Egret.
- Box Cutting Rainforest Walk (rainforest) - subadult male Scarlet Honeyeater, male Rose Robin, 2 Large-billed Scrubwren, Brown Gerygones with 2 dependent young.
- Bodalla State Forest (rainforest/euc. forest) - 1 Yellow-throated Scrubwren (along Spring Ck Trail, close to southern limit which is at Mt Dromedary?), Rufous Fantails, Variegated Fairy-wrens, Dusky Woodswallow, Little, Musk & Rainbow Lorikeets, white phase Grey Goshawk & 3 Dusky Antechinus (2 different colour forms?). Brushtail, Yellow-bellied Glider & Boobook while spotlighting.
- Nangudga Lake (drying lake) - roost with >50 Pelicans.
- Flying Fox Bay (rainforest/large fig trees) - 2 Brush Cuckoos (immature bird which had me fooled initially), 2 Wonga Pigeons, Superb Lyrebird.
