Dear all

Had a very pleasant trip to Harrington and Crowdy Bay National Park yesterday thursday 29 october - this is Mid-North Coast just north of Taree.

Wandered around the Literal Rainforest at Harrington - a late Spangled Drongo was perhaps a late stayer, and lots of very brightly coloured Variegated Fairywrens with youngsters, Spectacled Monarch and a male Regent Bowerbird. No sign or sound of Noisy Pittas.

At Crowdy Bay Indian Head picnic area, Scarlet Honeyeaters were calling, as were Fantail and Horsfield Bronze Cuckoos and Cicadabird with a Common Bronzewing hoo-hooing in the background while we had lunch. We didn't see any sea-eagles or Brahminy Kites but friends who were there the previous Thursday 22 October, saw 2 Brahminys and 3 White-bellied Sea-eagles. Nothing exceptional but a beautiful park and superb beach. However, don't visit in school holiday time!
