Ross & Alan ....all the books I've consulted on Red-bellied Blacks list frogs as their number one prey. Other snakes, mammals and birds are also taken, but I don't believe the notion that they keep Brown snakes away. Just come down to Lake Samsonvale (Brissy) and you'll see both in close proximity! While Red-bellied Blacks will eat herps, I believe that their diet is mostly warm blooded creatures. Regards, Alan |
