I was just looking at the latest issue of Tattler (it's dated April 2009 but I only received my copy in the past few days). There's an article about a recent amendment to the Japan-Australia Migratory Bird Agreement (JAMBA), where the scientific names for several migratory species were revised. Amongst the changes, the tattlers (Grey-tailed and Wandering) have been placed into the genus Heteroscelus instead of Tringa, and Cattle Egret into the genus Bubulculus instead of Ardea. Does anyone know if these are official changes for the Australian list?
