Good Question Dave. I would updates for the database would be more
likely than for HANZAB or HBW, being on a CD. I am waiting for a reply from Lynx Edicions as to whether the CD runs on a Mac, If the answer
is Si!, I might lash out and try it.

Cheers,

I guess the question to ask with all such lists is what provision they make for updates given the fluid state of taxonomy. There are free online lists with distributions (eg worldbirdnames.org, which includes a comparison with Clements - only the Clements side gives ssp). This
has the advantage of regular updates but does not do the checklists
(avibase is a reasonable source for these, but not perfect) or maps.
But sounds an interesting CD to look at......

Dear All,

I have just noticed on the Lynx Edicions website, a CD titled "Birds
of the World Database" by Larsson, Ekström, Larsson and Gandemo. It gives all bird species and sub-species. It can generate checklists,
has photos of 5,467 species, distribution maps and so on. Has anyone
had any experience with this CD? At € 70, it seems pretty well priced if it does all it is supposed to do. If anyone wants to check it out, have a look at http://www.lynxeds.com/product/birds-world-database

I just hope it runs on a Mac.

Cheers,
