I guess the question to ask with all such lists is what provision they make
for updates given the fluid state of taxonomy. There are free online lists
with distributions (eg worldbirdnames.org, which includes a comparison with
Clements - only the Clements side gives ssp). This has the advantage of
regular updates but does not do the checklists (avibase is a reasonable
source for these, but not perfect) or maps. But sounds an interesting CD to
look at......
