"Major disruptions" on the Werribee line this morning, so I walked up to Mt St
Joseph pond for a while when my train was canceled.

First I came across a Spotless Crake crossing the path, heading away from the
pond towards the train tracks. It stayed a while in the vegetation there, and
presumably would have crossed the tracks to the main swamp if I wasn't there,
then flew back to the pond. That's the first I've seen there for months, and
the first I've ever seen on the path.

Then two Golden-headed Cisticolas landed on the path. That's the first time
I've ever seen one other than in the air or clinging to the top of some grass
or a reed, etc. They were both raising and fanning their tails at each other
in some sort of display, facing away from each other. Has anyone seen that
display, or know its purpose?
