We could debate forever which is crueller. Some ducks die instantly, some suffer horribly. Some sheep, I'd hope most, die instantly, but who knows what trauma they undergo during the trip to the slaughter yards and while waiting their turn? My point was that duck shooting should stop because we could run out of ducks. Telling a hunter they shouldn't do it purely because it's cruel is not likely to get you far, which is why people have to physically stand in front of them with whistles to reduce the number they shoot.
