G'day everyone.
Thank to everyone who offered to show me around Werribee next. I appreciated
the offers.
Unfortunately, I've decided to skip the Melbourne part of my trip and have
instead decided to spend more time in Canberra, and a few days in the RNP.
Regards,
Mark

Actually Thu 19th will be much more convenient for me than the 18th as I may
have something else on that day.

I will probably be able to take you on either of these days

Thank you to everyone who has replied. I'm new to the subscription list and
I'm very impressed with just how friendly everyone is.
Paul,
I was planning to be at Werribee on the 18th and 19th of March, which is a
Wednesday and Thursday. If yourself or anyone else is free on one of those
days, I'ld certainly appreciate a walk around with someone who knows the
place.
Regards,
Mark

I expedited the process in 2007 by being prepared to go to the Melb Water
offices in Brooklyn/Altona, but this would (I think) only be an option a
weekday and during their opening hours. I sussed this all out mostly by
phone before hand (and then through a wild goose chase the preceding
afternoon when I was sent to the offices near the city on the understanding
I could get a permit there, then being told that this was not true) and
having to go to Brooklyn the day I intended to visit. I was there as the
office opened (about 9:30 I think) so had my permit and was able to spend a
good part of a day at WTP.
First para of my 2007 report in the archives covers my permit acquiring
adventures...http://bioacoustics.cse.unsw.edu.au/archives/html/birding-aus/2

Detailed recollections could now be a bit scratchy....
