A few years ago I did a houseboat trip from Loxton to Morgan South Aust., which is probably about 100km along the river and it took 4 days, a pair of Welcome Swallows were nesting under the boat and they stayed with us for the entire trip. I used to prune a patch of vines, near Waikerie, and camp there, for two months each year in my caravan, near an old house ruin which was eventually demolished so after that event I put my van in the space, the swallows who used to nest each year in the old ruin then used my annexe as a nesting/roosting area.
