Just inquiring of any developments in the Little Bitterns at Lake Hamilton
in sw Victoria. Has anyone else visited the location?
There are currently only 15 breeding records of the species for Victoria
and none from the south west of the state so this would be a great record.
Any update Steve?
Birding-Aus members may know that Birds Australia is looking into
surveying Australasian and Little Bitterns at the moment. See the
following link, it's well worth a look
http://www.birdsaustralia.com.au/our-projects/bittern-survey.html
All bitterns are threatened species in Victoria so it's important we
formally record all sightings to the relevant atlasses.
cheers, Martin
