Thanks to Graham, I too saw the Powerful Owl around 1pm with my wife, who I
can now say is officially a ?birdwatcher?. From Graham?s description and a
quick phone call from the site, she actually spotted if before me. A proud
moment for me indeed. What a bird; and it was holding onto a flying fox.
Unfortunately it was in the midst of thick vines so a clear photo was
impossible. Just a few memory snaps.

The walk back to the car saw us entertained by resident Bell Miners, a few
female Variegated Fairy-wrens and a Noisy Friarbird feeding its fledgling on
a branch almost at head height about 20m away.

Way to go in 36-odd degrees of good, old Aussie summer heat!

Cheers

Ákos
