G'day Birders, I went for a walk this morning (trying to beat the heat of
the day and failing dismally) and was pleasantly surprised to see a Powerful
Owl. The bird was sitting in a patch of closed forest and was in a thicket
of native grape at about head height due to the slope of the ground, at a
distance of 15 m. It has obviously been a while since I've had a good look
at a P owl as I was stuck by just how big these owls really are.
The other point of note is that I saw a powerful in the same gully about 10 years ago.
