Keith, what size was this Pigeon? Whereas Elegant was the bird in Darwin it
was also the most likely large, green-above, vagrant Imperial-Pigeon to
occur there. Not so near Cairns where Pacific Imperial-Pigeon is more
likely. Pacific is similar in size to Pied (39 cm compared with PIP at 37
but Elegant is 44 thus considerably larger than PIP, according to Pigeons &
Doves of the World) .
