Went to Eastlakes Golf Club this afternoon and spotted a couple of Latham's Snipe on a small grassy island in the lake and about 50m below the upper dam wall. Grass was quite tall so only head and upper neck were visible. Also a Marsh Harrier was around. Best access to the course is via Martin Avenue, Enter through gate in wire netting, hidden be Oleander bush, at end of street then cross two fairways to lake and the island is straight ahead. Watch out for golfers and golf balls though!
