I just thought I'd mention that I visited Wet Lagoon a couple of weeks ago.
There was water in it, but not enough for birds in it to be very visible.
Apart from a single White-necked Heron, I saw no other birds actually in it. I
assume there'd be even less water in it now. There were quite a few bush birds
in the trees beside the road at the southern end, and some Fairy Martins and
what I assume was a Hobby at the north end.
I thought about walking further from the road to see if I could see better, but
the very long thick grass made me decide that there was little to be gained
given the risk of stepping on a snake.
I also continued south to Collector, and spent some time in Collector Reserve -
a large paddock with a few trees and a dam - on the right just before
Collector. Very good views of Rufous Songlarks there, they were calling
