I wonder whether the rat is, in fact, a Black Rat Rattus rattus. The tail
looks a little thin and long for a Brown Rat Rattus norvegicus. Black Rats
are rarely black and have a tail longer than the combined head and body
length. Brown Rats have tails about the same length as the head and body.
