Russell,From memory, the Painted Snipe (five in all) seen at Cove Rd, Stanmore (between Woodford and Beerwah in SEQ) at this time last year stayed around for approx. 8 weeks. I think their departure was related to the partial drying-up of the wetland they were utilizing. This spot also had Latham's Snipe last year, as well as breeding Cotton Pgymy-geese (three were on the water 3 weeks ago). Russ Lamb, Maleny,SEQ |
