We had a few Crimson Chats in Canberra briefly a couple of years ago,
presumably as a result of severe drought conditions pushing them east.
It was only the second record for the ACT, the first being back in the
1950s. I also saw some birds on a property near Henty and received a
report of a few birds on a property near Junee, again the first time
since the 1950s. There was a breeding attempt (nest with eggs)
reported just north of Young, last year I think.
