A night time visit from a Tawny frogmouth to the lounge-dining room did cause
some chaos.

The Maltese dog gave up on the situation and the bird ,after couple of rounds
of the room decided to settle under the dining table. It was easily caught with
a towel and returned to the back fence to recover and fly off.

The scent of the bird kept my dog busy for an hour or so.
