I saw the male chat tonight thanks to a lovely birder with a British accent.
He kindly let me and the dogs tag along after him even though I embarrassed
myself by mis-iding a figbird as CBC! **

The bird was exactly where Max said the bird would be, under the wattle,
which was very obliging of the bird (and Max).

Unfortunately I had to dash off before the dogs made a nuisance of
themselves which was a shame.

There is a lovely picture on Flickr of the male chat (not my picture)

** ok, it's like this, the fig bird has a red eye, yesterday I picked up a
CBC. The CBC has a red eye, ergo every bird with a red eye is a CBC. And,
also, even with my glasses I can't see that well .. I'm not convincing
anyone am I? Never mind ... I'll got back tomorrow sans canines after
have released said CBC to have a better look.
