Hi allI did a survey for Tree Sparrows at Cowa 5 months ago, none either side of the main street or at a number of spots both north and south but plenty of House Sparrows. Eventually found a couple in Whitby St., opposite the park, where I have seen them off and on for over 8 years. Certainly the local birding guy, Athol I presume, has them around his place to the west but they are not that common at all I found.
