I can vouch for that - in July 2007 we visited the Alice Springs Desert Park and the local wedges were very aggressive - coming down from the high ground on the McDonnell Ranges that is behind the free flight area to harass a wild Black Kite and then having a go at the park's own Black Kite - at which point the handlers canned the show for the morning as their birds are too valuable to be "eagled". Having said that, we got a pretty good free flight display from the wild eagles and kites!
