"You mean before developers get at it".There was a proposal put forward by a southern company a few years ago over a large chunk of that area which was to take in alot of open woodland. It was to be a partnership with some of the aboriginal communities. From memory, it was to set up sawmills, harvest the timber, then clear large tracts for agriculture. Many Palm Cockatoo nesting hollows amongst other things would have gone. Luckily it did not go ahead. Many people from the aboriginal communities were against it.
