Hi Bob,
Fraid not, that's a Brown Falcon. See the barring on the underwing and tail,
and the heavy pale markings on the face? Both features are enough to
confirm Brown Falcon without considering colour or shape. Black Falcons
don't have the barring or any markings on the face (except for very old
Black Falcons which can rarely have some white on the chin). Also you can
see quite clearly in this image my point about the light shining through the
primaries of Brown Falcons (see the bird's left wing), and the generally
very strong two-toned colour in Brown Falcon wings.
Nice action shot regardless of species.
