G'day all

I stopped for fuel in Beaufort this afternoon (10 cents/l cheaper than in Hamilton!). I had people with me so couldn't look properly. If anyone is passing through check out the Eucalyptus leucoxylon (covered in red flowers) adjacent to the bowsers at the Mobil servo in town. There were lots of honeyeaters in the flowers and there were calls I coundn't identify. There was a report of a Pied Honeyeater in the Grampians a few days ago and it crossed my mind that the Beaufort birds would be worth checking out. There are other more likely species but, as I said, the calls were not from our residents.

Cheers
Steve Clark
Hamilton, Victoria.
