I'd agree with John. Underwing pattern not right for a Buzzard. Some
male Wedgies can look pretty small, it's the females get to be the
biggest.

Thank you all for that - you have convinced me I got it wrong. It
appeared significantly smaller that any Wedge-tail I had seen before -

Looks like a Wedge-tailed Eagle to me. Can't see the white 'windows' on
the wings which a Black-breasted Buzzard has and the tail looks too long
(it extends well beyond the wingtips in the shot where it's perched,
whereas a Black-breasted Buzzard's wingtips tend to extend further than
the tail when perched).
