Hi all,

Just got back from a weekend at shark bay and its incredible at the moment.
All the eremophilas are flowering and there are carpets of everlastings etc.
Apparently they had some good rain, and everything is flowering.

Some of the highlights include:

Pied HE (a pair that came in close giving great views)
Black HE (flock of about 40 birds with lots of immature around Hamelin Pool)

Budgies (lots of birds in smallish flocks of 2-30)

Cockatiels (smallish flock of about 10 birds flew over the road into shark
bay)

Crimson chats (at least 50 hanging around Hamelin pool and others seen
flying over the road for most of the drive north of about kalbarri)

Thick billed grasswrens are everywhere at monkey mia as usual

Lots of chiming wedge bills (got a great look at a family party with some
immature)

Mulga parrots at eurardy and seen flying over the road north of billabong

Some young Barwits at monkey mia beach

6 regent parrots just north of eurardy station (a fairly northern record for
this species)

Diamond doves all over the place between billabong and overlander

White faced honeyeaters all through Kalbarri NP.

If you are in WA, try and get up there before the flowering stops!

Cheers,
D
