My Bushnell's caps are tethered-in as much as they are in two parts-the
actual caps and attached to them a rubber ring that slides over the big
end of the bins. Mind you these rings have a worrying habit of working
themselves off the end of the bins. I reckon Bushnell should build in a
slightly proud register i.e a sticking up bit (a sophisticated
engineering term...) and the rubber ring would sit safely behind it.

Good idea. But what if one wants tethered caps?  I've always wanted them
for my Bushnell's, but of course they aren't available.

I suspect the caps would have to be rubber ones, as some plastics don't
work with any kind of glue.
