Hi Dave & Marj
We have a Garmin Vista CX and find it to be a very useful well made
interesting tool.
We use it to find locations, mark locations, record tracks, geocaching,
sunrise and sunset times, the time, speed whilst driving, altitude and many
other things. We use it with google earth and other software applications.
If you are only going to use it for what you say then a more basic model
would be fine.
I hope this helps

Hi Folks,
We are in the market for a hand held GPS unit. From what I hear, Garmin
seems to be the brand to get. We will be using it mostly to plot significant
native plants and weeds (which we plan to eradicate) on our bush property.
We're looking at 2 models, the Garmin eTrex Vista HCX and the Garmin eTrex
Legend HCx. Does anyone have some experience with these models? Any thoughts
(good or bad) will be most appreciated. Thoughts on other brands/models
welcome too.
Thanks in advance,
Dave and Marj
