A quick Google search still means that you need to open the mail, which costs a
lot of time if you get dozens of mails through a list serv and you are only
interested in certain things. That's why 'professional' list servs have the
rule to give the 'important information' in the subject line: what? where? e.g.
"NSW, Katoomba, Three Sisters, 2 California Condors" That can't be too
difficult!
And another one: Try 'Fern Bay' for example will you end up in Sydney or
Newcastle? Tough luck if you missed your most wanted bird because you drove to
Newcastle instead of North Sydney!
Cheers,
Nikolas

Subject: [Birding-Aus] Subject lines again!
Methinks that people protesteth too much if someone leaves some of the
location details out of reported sightings. Often it is new members or an
inadvertent omission. If we are reading birding-aus, it means we are
relatively computer literate. A quick Google search usually turns up the
exact location - try a search on 'Enoggera Dam' for example.
Good Birdwatching.
