For anyone in South Australia who finds Spotless Crakes difficult species the little bay next to the Goolwa paddle boat at Goolwa is currently home to at least four of these elusive birds. Look for them next to the reeds on the far side from the paddle boat with a scope in the late afternoon. The water levels are still very low so the crakes are inclined to step out from cover more than normal. A small silver lining to the otherwise very dark cloud over the River Murray.
