Hi all,
Was birding this arvo in Centennial Park in Sydney when i came across a
flock of about 40-50 corellas. The majority (40 or so) were Long-billed
Corellas, and about 5 or 6 were Little Corellas. The eighth edition of
Pizzey and Knight states that "feral populations [of Long-billed Corellas]
have settled in Sydney..."
Does this population in Centennial Park count as one of those feral
populations, and is it tickable? Before now, i have seen only one
long-billed corella at a time in Centennial park, so this was a suprise, to
find so many. They were happily feeding at the base of a tree, and i walked
right up to them, and they fed around my feet, totally undisturbed by my
presence. Unfortunately, i did not have my camera on me, so could not
photograph them.
Is it tickable?
Regards,
Ashwin
