Although the microbats are unlikely to cause much, if any, damage to an aircraft, they are still recorded as birdstrikes if hit. However if they hit the right part of the aircraft, then they (or their remains) can cause problems. Flying foxes on the other hand, can create a god-awful mess both to the aircraft and all over the runway if they go through an engine. The end result is not pretty!
