Hi Max,
I emailed you off site to let you know that you are not alone and to let you
know that our 15 year old son is a very keen birder. Seeing such a response
welcoming you I decided to do a 'reply all' post. I admire any young birder
who has the courage to declare their interest in birds. Peter is circumspect
about letting his friends know because he feels he will be viewed differently,
but as others have said, birders are usually very intelligent people motivated
by a passionate interest in birds and natural history in general. Like you,
Peter loves twitching a new bird, but his interest goes beyond this, and I feel
very privileged to have nurtured one of the next generation of birders, so it
was just great to read your email.
Welcome, Max. I know you will find us all at Birding Aus very willing to help
you find new locations and new birds.
Kind regards
Judith

short stay to my Grandparents farm on the weekend. There farm is situated about
20km NE of Coonabarrabran in central NSW and I was wondering if anyone knows
where Carmel Lagoon is? I think it might be a bit further west past Baradine,
its meant to be good for Yellow-billed Spoonbill's, a new bird for
