Time to say we just aren't at all sure what it might have been and let
it go at that.? Surely the pics were too dark and fuzzy for any
reasonable analysis.

I would be more inclined towards Juv Fuscous, which don't have an
obvious plume at this age. I don't see "chip" as a problem for fuscous
but I do for Painted. Juv Painteds don't have a yellow eye-ring as far
as I'm aware but juv Fuscous definitely do along with the inner half of
bill yellow. My money is on Fuscous.
