Hi all, (and attn: Frank Parsons!)
There is at least one Eastern Yellow Wagtail still present on Ash Island. I was
watching one this afternoon (Thursdee) for about 30 minutes. This bird was
nicely coloured up, with a very obvious grey head, whitish throat and white
eyebrow. There's an ordinary foto at:

The bird was being harassed by (un)Welcome Swallows and at times the Wagtail
was seen to give it right back to them. This bird was nowhere near as flighty
as others I have seen there recently (I use the term "others" meaning "other
sightings", not necessarily other birds, although there have been up to 3
individuals there this year).
I also got good views at a Buff-banded Rail, an immature Red-kneed Dotterel and
a group of 9 Black-fronted Dotterels along Wagtail Way.
