Magpies regularly attack Australasian Pipits chasing them high into the sky.
Although there would be some overlap in food preferences I would not have
thought that a Pipit would pose too much competitive pressure on a Magpie.
Maybe they just have a nasty streak!! Has anyone else observed this? Greg Clancy |
