This is a common practice for anyone that cares for raptors. You can imp
tail and wing feathers for any bird but due to raptors putting a lot of
strain on their feathers when flying it is most commonly used on them. I
just imped 10 tail feathers on an Australian Hobby a few weeks ago. No need
to sedate the bird, just restrain it, cover it up and you can do a single
feather within 30 seconds plus glue drying time.
