I heard about this on the radio this morning.I think there needs to be more work done on the genetic diversity on Australian Biota before it will work here. I mean we are still turning up new 'insert preferred lowest taxonomic unit here "species") or at least new cryptic species within a currently recognised lowest unit.* Maybe in the US where the push for this is coming it might be easier, more people with more money and potentially lower diversity making the creation of the library easier. But what a great job that would be, to collect the genetic material from as many things* as possible. Cheers Graham Turner * I am using this terminology so that the cladistic Nazis don't jump on me. |
